Barnhouse started in 2016 as a family run business built around traditional woodworking and furniture making. What began as hand crafted pieces for clients at home grew into work shipped internationally, known for quality and attention to detail.

Over time, that focus on craftsmanship led us into plastering, particularly lime and traditional methods. The same principles apply. Use the right materials, understand how they behave, and take the time to do the job properly.

Today, Barnhouse focuses on plastering for older buildings and interiors. We specialise in lime plastering and traditional finishes, working with the building rather than against it to create surfaces that last and perform as they should.

Our Approach

Older buildings need breathable materials. Using the wrong plaster can trap moisture and lead to damp, cracking, and ongoing issues. Every project is assessed properly so the right system is used from the start.
